How to use a table in a cube which is connected to the facttable through two other tables

Hello,

I have a problem : I want to make a Dimension of a table A which is connected in the data view with table B. table B is connected with table C and table C is connected with table D (table D is the fact table). Now when I created my table-A-dimension and want to include it in the cube it is not possible or does not work correctly.

Some more information: Table A includes a Parent Child Hierarchy : It is only possible to make a parent child hierarchy which depends on the primary key of the dimension. Thats a problem, because if it where possible to choose the attribute for the parent child hierarchy dependence (not the parent attribute but the other attribute (in my opinion only the primary key, which must be a single attribute) I could integrate my table A in table B and could integrate Dimension B in the Cube, with a referenced relationship on table C.

Can somebody help me ?

How about replacing the fact table with a Named Query in the Data Source View, which joins Tables D->C->B? This Named Query can then include (from Table B) the foreign key for the primary key attribute of Dimension Table A.|||

Thanks for your reply !!

I solved the Problem. I worked with the table that is connected to the facttable and now this table includes an attribute to connect it directly with my facttable.

Thanks !!
